France will invest an additional €200 million to accelerate the development of electric charging stations across the country. Currently, France is the second best-equipped country in Europe with 110,000 public charging terminals, but only 10% of them are fast-charging.

Hithium, a stationary battery manufacturer, showcased its new 5 MWh container product. The second-generation energy storage system offers 46% higher energy density than standard systems and comes with Hithium's multi-level, liquid-cooling technology for optimized battery power.

Colombia has connected 18 renewable energy generation plants to its national grid in the second and third quarter of 2023, including 89 MW of solar farms. The projects include six solar farms, two solar distributed generation plants, and seven solar self-consumption systems.

Italian energy company Enel has agreed to sell its 150MW geothermal and solar portfolio in the US to Ormat Technologies for $271m. The deal includes Enel's entire geothermal portfolio in the US, as well as small solar plants. The assets being sold include two operating geothermal power plants.

A limited gas supply has caused a nationwide power outage in Ghana, with many parts of the country experiencing intermittent power cuts. The power distribution firm, GRIDCo, has reported a supply gap of 550MW at peak time, which is about 10% of the country's total capacity.

IBM India's CTO, Geeta Gurnani, believes that cybersecurity is a hyper-growth area in the country, with investments in security solutions continuously increasing. Gurnani states that cybersecurity has become a top priority for enterprises as even a small breach can have significant consequences.
