Two meteor showers, the Delta Aquariids and Alpha Capricornids, are set to peak on July 30 and 31. DA could produce up to 15 to 20 meteors per hour, while the AC may produce brilliant "fireballs." The DAs will be more visible in the southern hemisphere, but Americans in the south can still catch a glimpse.

A new wheat variety, BRS 404, has been introduced for the cerrado region of central Brazil. This region is ideal for wheat production as it is harvested during the dry season, resulting in good quality wheat. BRS 404 has a higher tolerance to drought, heat, diseases, and aluminum in cerrado soils.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reportedly asked Coinbase to stop trading in all cryptocurrencies except bitcoin before suing the exchange. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said the SEC's recommendation left them no choice but to go to court.

India has confirmed that an object found on a beach in Western Australia is from one of its rockets. The metal dome, believed to be the third stage of a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, washed up on Green Head beach. The Australian Space Agency had previously stated that the object was most likely from a PSLV.

The military junta in Niger has detained a leading official from the ousted president's party and two government ministers, bringing the total number of detained ministers to five. President Mohamed Bazoum has been held since last week when the officers seized power.

The Motherland monument in Kyiv, Ukraine is undergoing a makeover as the Soviet-era hammer and sickle emblem is being removed and replaced with a tryzub, a three-pronged emblem of Ukraine. The work is expected to be completed by Ukraine's Independence Day on August 24th.

Japan is tackling the issue of hikikomori, a syndrome that has created a generation of recluses. Hikikomori refers to people who live in isolation within their homes for at least six months. A government study estimated that nearly 1.5 million people in Japan were living as recluses.
