Daniya Syed has created and patented an artificially intelligent social healthcare robot called Medibot for her HSC Design and Technology subject. Syed has represented Australia in international robotics competitions and is currently studying Mechatronics Engineering at UTS to further develop Medibot.

Around 2,000 penguins, mostly juveniles, have washed up dead on the coast of eastern Uruguay in the last 10 days. The cause of their deaths remains unknown, but it is not believed to be avian influenza. The penguins died in the Atlantic Ocean and were carried by currents to Uruguayan shores.

The polls have opened in Cambodia's election, but there is no credible opposition to challenge the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP). Long-term leader Hun Sen, who has been in power for 38 years, is expected to extend his party's rule and sweep all 125 seats in parliament.

North America's first hydrogen-powered train, Alstom's Coradia iLint, is being tested on Quebec rails as part of an $8 million pilot project. The train, which emits only water vapor, has been in commercial service in Germany since 2018 but is making its North American debut.

Billionaire Elon Musk has announced that the Twitter logo will be permanently changed. Musk, who previously replaced the logo with the Dogecoin mascot, explained that the change is part of a plan to say goodbye to the Twitter brand and slowly remove all bird imagery.

The military government in Mali has adopted a new constitution that gives the president and armed forces more power. The constitution also creates a senate and demotes French as an official language. The reforms were supported by 97% of votes in a referendum.
